Donald Kufe, MD
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Research Project:
Development of a New Therapy for Lung Cancer Resistant to Existing Therapies
Summary:
Dr. Kufe’s study explored the mechanism by which a new compound likely to be tested in humans can destroy lung cancer cells resistant to current drugs. An understanding of these pathways could help scientists identify patients who are most likely to benefit from these cancer-killing compounds. Dr. Kufe is the recipient of the 2010 Scientific Merit Award.
